SENco Neurodiversity Support Manager
Job Introduction
Sodexo have a great opportunity for a SENco Neurodiversity Support Manager to join their team based at HMP Bronzefield, Surrey.
Reporting to our Education Manager the SENco Manager will be responsible for implementing a method of LDD assessments of all prisoners entering custody and identifying their needs. In addition to this the role will also be responsible for dedicating neurodiversity support to all prisoners to increase their engagement with the regime and become aware of coping strategies.
The ideal candidate should have a relevant SENco qualification along with previous experience working within SENco, have fantastic people skills and be passionate about improving the learning experience for neuro-diverse prisoners

Role Responsibility
- Work with the Head of Learning & Skills and Education Manager to develop innovative SENCO support.
- Collaborate with the EOS Manager and Complex Case Manager to manage resident progression, motivate change, and identify connections between disruptive behaviour and LDD needs.
- Liaise with the Wellbeing team for residents needing wellbeing support alongside LDD support.
- Provide professional leadership for the Learning Support department.
- Lead the CIAG team during Induction and throughout a resident's time in custody.
- Collaborate with the Employment Hub to ensure accurate information flow for prisoner needs.
- Coordinate LDD support timetabling with staff and professionals.
- Ensure high-quality education and improved learning standards for all residents.
- Lead by example, inspiring and motivating residents and staff.
- Guide HMP Bronzefield through the Autism Accreditation process and liaise with external agencies.
- Promote a dynamic, technology-driven learning culture.
- Contribute to curriculum development within the Learning and Skills department.
- Plan LDD sessions using relevant data for learner development.
- Support colleagues with customized CPD and professional guidance.
- Ensure adherence to relevant policies and procedures.
- Identify individual needs in classes/groups and develop differentiation strategies and resources.
- Identify vulnerable residents through screening and develop coping strategies.
- Monitor resident engagement and maintain records.
- Assist in marketing strategies related to courses and training.
- Increase take-up of SEN sessions and attendance strategies.
- Lead the development and training of Peer Workers for neurodiversity and Shannon Trust.
- Monitor learner attendance and report difficulties to Line Manager.
- Attend team meetings and staff meetings, providing feedback and ideas.
- Draw up, monitor, and record one-to-one support and intervention programs.
- Guide colleagues in selecting appropriate teaching and learning methods.
- Ensure assessment, progress recording, and reporting systems are in place.
- Use data to set achievement targets.
- Establish a conducive learning environment and behaviour code.
- Monitor achievement standards across the department.
- Evaluate staff and peer worker support and intervention programs.
- Establish rapport with residents and promote learning and coping mechanisms.
- Understand Ofsted CIF for prisons.
- Contribute to course reviews and action plans.
- Meet prison targets and work full-time in the prison.
- Undertake additional duties as required by the Director or Head of Learning, Skills & Employment.

The Ideal Candidate
Essential
- Previous SENCO experience and qualification.
- Full teaching qualification (Minimum of PGCE or QTLS
- Passion for improving the learning experience for neurodiverse prisoners.
- Experience in delivering effective interventions.
- Interest in offender rehabilitation and resettlement.
- Reflective practitioner committed to improving learner outcomes.
- Strong communication skills in various mediums.
- Experience in strategic planning and self-evaluation of SEN delivery.
- Detailed understanding of Diversity & Inclusion and Healthcare's link to SEN.
Desirable
- Experience in a prison environment
