Location: RAF Odiham, Hook, Hampshire
Rate of Pay: £12.21 per hour + Sodexo Benefits
Shift Pattern: Monday – Thursday 5.00pm – 11.00pm
About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Retail Assistant / General Assistant to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who takes pride in delivering excellent customer service, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, and ensuring a smooth and efficient operation within our kitchen and front-of-house areas.
You’ll play a vital role in supporting daily service—whether it’s preparing and serving food and drinks, maintaining hygiene standards, or assisting with deliveries and stock rotation.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain full knowledge of all areas and duties within your role.
- Complete all required documentation accurately and promptly.
- Ensure all kitchen and service areas are kept clean and tidy, following the ‘clean as you go’ policy.
- Assist with deliveries, including checking, storing, and rotating stock to ensure no out-of-date items remain on shelves.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team, adapting to the needs of the business.
- Comply with all stock, key, and building security procedures.
- Take care of all resources, including equipment, materials, uniform, and PPE—reporting faults or losses promptly.
- Adhere to health and safety and food hygiene standards at all times.
- Participate in team meetings, briefings, and performance reviews to support your ongoing professional development.
- Provide exceptional customer service when preparing and serving food, making coffee, pulling pints, handling cash, and ensuring all guests have a positive experience.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by management.
Person Specification
- Customer Focus: Proven track record of delivering excellent customer service.
- Health & Safety Awareness: Basic understanding of health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Teamwork: A positive, flexible, and proactive attitude with the ability to work well under pressure.
