Job Purpose
As a Restaurant Supervisor at Sodexo in Yeovil, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service and customer care, supervising and motivating your team, and ensuring that high standards of cleanliness, safety, and food service are consistently maintained. You’ll lead daily operations to create a welcoming and efficient dining environment for customers and staff alike.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and allocate work schedules, ensuring maximum efficiency and appropriate staff rostering.
Ensure correct usage and storage of cleaning materials and equipment, maintaining compliance with health and safety standards.
Support minor food preparation and food service as required.
Monitor and maintain cleaning standards in all service areas.
Train, instruct, and oversee team performance and service delivery.
Ensure team members follow uniform, hygiene, and safety policies.
Maintain compliance with Sodexo’s Safety Management System (SMS).
Ensure proper handling of cash, stock, keys, and premises, reporting deficiencies promptly.
Train staff on cash handling procedures and ensure correct pricing at points of sale.
Act as a first point of contact for customer queries and complaints.
Lead team huddles and monthly team meetings with proper documentation.
Prepare and clean service areas before and after service periods.
Identify opportunities for increased profitability and cost savings.
Support staff development and training while addressing performance issues.
Ensure team compliance with Health & Safety at Work Act, Food Safety Act, and COSHH regulations.
Maintain accurate attendance and time records.
Adhere to the Company’s Quality Management Procedures.
Continuously develop personal skills and knowledge relevant to the role.
Report damages, accidents, or near misses in a timely and appropriate manner.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Essential:
Strong numerical and communication skills (both written and verbal).
Working knowledge of Health & Safety and Food Safety.
Self-motivated and able to work independently or within a team.
High attention to detail and commitment to standards.
Desirable:
IOSH and CIEH qualifications or equivalent.
Previous experience in the catering or hospitality industry.
Additional Information
Flexibility in working hours may be required.
