Regional Buyer

Job Introduction

We’re looking for an ambitious, collaborative buying professional with exceptional influencing skills to join our FM procurement team as a Regional Buyer.

You’ll be responsible for regional procurement within the Hard FM category and will support the tender process, improving profitability by optimising agreements and managing and maintaining supplier relationships. In this newly defined structure, which sets Sodexo apart from our competitors, you’ll have the opportunity to challenge yourself professionally and further develop your negotiation, stakeholder management and tender management skills.

You’ll be joining a well-established, team with heaps of experience who can’t wait to welcome the newest member of their team, working collaboratively whist still maintaining a level of autonomy will be key to your success in this position.

You’ll be home based with some travel required to Sodexo offices, sites and suppliers.

Role Responsibility

  • To support the buying tendering process across the categories within direct region, covering due diligence, tender set up  
  • Design and implement of tenders
  • Provide regional spend analysis for category managers
  • Responsible for contract documentation set up and new product set up
  • Engage with category management teams to ensure all relevant data is shared
  • Build a strong network within the Supply Management both at a regional and UK&I level
  • Understand business needs in order to effectively support and influence the sourcing decisions within the region
  • Work with key stakeholders within Supply Management teams in the UK  
  • Responsible for assisting category managers with income aged debt and alignment of rebate volumes

The Ideal Candidate

What's essential:

  • Team player with excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Financial acumen and result orientated
  • Exposure to buying / category management
  • Ability in working in a multi-cultural and matrix environment
  • Knowledge of procurement processes
  • Strong excel based skills (Advance Excel)
  • Strong presentation skills both verbally and written
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build trusting working relationships
  • Knowledge of the Hard FM sector and categories within e.g. Lifts, Fire and Security, Water treatment, electrical wholesalers

Where we can be flexible:

  • CIPS/ISM or working towards
  • Experience of managing sub-contractors across Hard FM
  • Knowledge of Construction and Civils ‘project’ works procurement methodologies
  • Experience of Pharma, Heath or Public Sector FM Operations

Package Description

upto £50,000 per annum plus benefits and bonus
