Receptionist

Job Introduction

Sodexo Justice Services is a custodial services company with a reputation for delivering high quality services through its philosophy that everyone can develop and make changes for the better. 

We are currently recruiting for a Receptionist.  The postholder will report to the Operations Group. This is an important post which involves dealing with internal and external customers and stakeholders appropriately.   The role is full-time (37.5 hours), Monday to Friday – the post holder is required to wear a uniform at all times.

Role Responsibility

  • Greet visitors to the prison in a polite, friendly and professional manner
  • Enrol approved visitors, contractors and new staff members onto the BioMetric system
  • Answering phone calls from outside agencies and directing their calls to the relevant departments
  • Dealing with queries from external agencies, stakeholders or other callers
  • Taking messages to be passed onto staff who cannot be reached and passing those messages on in a timely manner
  • Answering phone calls from prisoners’ family members and providing them with any information they require about the prison
  • Updating PR2 to reflect most recent address for prisoners’ visitors
  • Ensuring you present a professional image at all times

The Ideal Candidate

  • IT literate
  • Have strong communication skills offering a professional and positive approach at all times
  • Have high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Flexible, enthusiastic, self motivated and driven
  • Able to work unsupported or as part of a team as required

HMP Addiewell was opened in December 2008 and is a 796 place male prison run by Sodexo Justice Services for the Scottish Prison Service at Addiewell, near West Calder in West Lothian.

All roles will require applicants to undergo screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Criminal Records Bureau (UK) and/ or Disclosure Scotland (Scotland).
