Programmes Manager

Job Introduction

HMP Northumberland  have an exciting opportunity for a Programmes Manager to join the team. You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of accredited programmes to prisoners, in order to support lifestyle changes and rehabilitation.

As a working prison, we work towards the resettlement of residents upon their release into the community and their integration into society through the skills acquired while in our care. We are committed to supporting people to change their lives for the better and lead law-abiding lives. HMP Northumberland offers a variety of initiatives and programmes to help residents engage within the prison’s rehabilitative culture. This includes various educational and vocational qualifications, as well as a variety of opportunities for residents to learn new skills within our workshops and industries departments. We have textile, engineering and electrical workshops and can offer prisoners experience in horticulture, market gardens, cleaning, waste management and laundry services on site.

Being over 4 miles in circumference, the prison is a vast space with exceptionally kept plantation and currently houses over 1300 residents with a range of sentence terms.

Role Responsibility

• To oversee the running of all Programmes.
• To conduct live monitoring weekly whilst the Programmes are running.
• To conduct individual supervision with in required time frames.
• To conduct group supervisions and team meetings in required time frames.
• To give constructive /fair feedback to team members.
• To monitor key work sessions delivered by the staff.
• To audit files and gate keep them.
• To chair meetings with in the team.
• To oversee the effective running of post course reviews
• Promote the creation of a rehabilitative culture
• Develop and co-ordinate peer mentor opportunities within the establishment

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

• A good level of numeracy and literacy
• Good interpersonal skills and have an Empathic approach.
• Good planning and organisational skills
• To have a keen interest in rehabilitation​

Desirable

• Experience working in a similar environment or role

Package Description

£30,200 - £35,000 per annum (depending on experience) plus excellent benefits!
