Programmes Facilitator

Job Introduction

HMP Lowdham Grange are looking for a Programme Facilitator to deliver accredited offender behaviour programmes and interventions to prisoners, in order to support with the reduction of reoffending. As the Programme Facilitator, you will support assessments, group and individual facilitation and provide overall support in the Psychology and Interventions team within the Prison.

Sodexo are responsible for 6 prison sites across the UK and Scotland and HMP Lowdham Grange is our newest prison that we have just added to our portfolio! The prison is currently operated by Serco, and we will be taking over the contract on the 16th February.

Role Responsibility

  • Working in a multi-disciplinary and collaborative way with the Psychology and Interventions team, Prisoners and the wider Prison.
  • To deliver Offending Behaviour Programme’s (OBP’s) to prisoners to support lifestyle changes and reduce reoffending.
  • To provide factual reports / information in order to support prisoner’s progress.
  • To evidence delivery skills through attending core skills and programmes specific training.
  • To demonstrate a good understanding of the programme content, integrity, and rationale.
  • To conduct one to one sessions with prisoners using motivational interviewing techniques to support with the reduction of violence and overall aim of reducing reoffending.
  • To carry out duties as directed by the Programmes Manager.

The Ideal Candidate

  • A good level of numeracy and literacy.
  • To have good communication skills both oral and written.
  • Good interpersonal skills and an empathic approach.
  • Good planning, time management and organisational skills.
  • To have a keen interest in reducing reoffending, risk of harm and the rehabilitation of prisoners.
