Procurement Manager
Job Introduction
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Procurement professional looking to make their mark and bring innovation to our Tillery Valley Food Manufacturing site in South Wales.
Working as part of the management team at Tillery Valley you’ll be an exceptional people manager able to mentor, develop and upskill your team. As the Procurement Manager you’ll balance your operational responsibilities with innovation and new ways of working to improve the performance of the team and function.
You’ll be highly capable and adaptable, able to develop sourcing strategies for different categories of spend and deliver cost savings and improved operational performance. You’ll develop suitable KPIs to manage agreed Cost, Quality and Delivery objectives.

Role Responsibility
- Set up, initiate and maintain professional relationships with the supplier network.
- Negotiate contracts to achieve best value.
- Achieve raw material cost reduction targets as agreed with the business.
- Undertaking value for money reviews of existing contracts and arrangements.
- Forecasting price trends and their impact on future activities.
- Ensuring suppliers are aware of business objectives.
- Keeping up to date with trends and innovations, regulation and new technology that can impact on the business.
- Ensuring that responsible sourcing is prioritised in the sourcing strategies.
- Lead project teams in executing cost saving programs.
- Work collaboratively with the new product development team to introduce innovative new products.
- Develop effective risk management strategies for key suppliers and key products.
- Build a strong network with the UK & Ireland Supply Management teams
The Ideal Candidate
What’s essential:
- Experienced leader and people manager, able to drive the delivery of results through great team management and motivation
- Forward thinking and strategically minded individual, able to demonstrate knowledge of modern Procurement trends and innovation whilst remaining accountable for day to day operations
- Proven experience building long lasting relationships with internal colleagues and external suppliers
- Excellent negotiator, tenacious and results driven with a track record of developing and delivering purchasing goals
- Exceptional influencing skills and a proven ability working at senior management level engaging peers and stakeholders
- Resilient and able to manage setbacks or a change of direction with ease
- Strong presentation skills both verbal and written
- Fully conversant with all Microsoft applications, including Office 365

£40,000 - £45,000 per annum plus benefits
