Prison Shop Assistant - Part-Time
Job Introduction
HMP Forest Bank have an exciting opportunity for a Prison Shop Assistant to join our team!
In this role, you will support the Shop Supervisor in the running of the Shop area.
To be a successful in this role, you will:
- Participate in the monthly stocktake.
- Assist in the printing of the canteen orders and pick and pack them within the allocated deadline
- Checking of papers and magazine orders and dealing with queries and appropriate paperwork
- Work closely with suppliers and colleagues to resolve any issues that arise
- Deal with request complaints within timeframe.
- Ensure the timely delivery of canteen orders to prisoners

As well as the 16 residential units on site, there is a healthcare centre, gym, library, workshop complex, visits hall, chaplaincy and kitchen. The prison’s capacity stands at 1,460, holding adult men both on remand or sentenced and young prisoners between the ages of 18-21 years.

The Ideal Candidate
- Strong communication skills both oral and written.
- Strong IT skills
- Strong organisational skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative and meet targets and to respond effectively to changing priorities.
- Relevant experience in a warehouse or service environment
Package Description
Working Hours: 16 hours per week - working days Wednesday and Friday
Salary: Starting salary £10,446.62 plus excellent company benefits!
