Press and PR Manager (6-7 Months FTC)

Job Introduction

As a Press & PR Manager (6-7 month FTC) at Sodexo in Salford (Hybrid working), you are also a skilled communicator and strategic thinker, capable of managing the company's media relations with a sharp focus on enhancing its reputation in line with our strategic objectives.

In this critical role, you will be responsible for providing specialist PR and media relations advice, responding to media enquiries, managing client relationships, and leading various projects and campaigns. Your work will have a significant impact on our business, contributing to our growth and success in the UK and Ireland markets.

Role Responsibility

  • Act as media relations specialist for dedicated segments
  • Identify opportunities to promote Sodexo initiatives, news and leadership positively in national, trade and regional media
  • Advise and brief senior management and subject matter experts on how to respond to media enquiries and interview requests
  • Draft press releases and corporate award entries in collaboration with the wider communications team
  • Manage relationship with public sector client
  • Act as PR and media lead on projects and campaigns
  • Act as company spokesperson with media and as ambassador at events/ press opportunities

The Ideal Candidate

Essential:

  • Strong proactive and reactive media relations skills
  • Must have previous experience working in a large B2B organisation or a PR agency environment.
  • Experience of managing or supporting a press office
  • Crisis and issues management skills, adept at handling sensitive situations
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to deal with people at all levels from senior management level down
  • Proven track record of providing media and PR advice and guidance to senior managers, and working within a large, complex environment

Desirable:

  • Project planning skills
  • Experience working in an integrated environment
