Sodexo have a fantastic opportunity for 2x Plumbers to join our busy maintenance team in Colchester, Essex

Reporting to our Estates Supervisor these positions will be responsible for all plumbing on our defence site. This will include both remedial and planned maintenance work. 

To be successful we are looking for fully qualified plumbers with a minimum level 2 city and guilds Plumbing services certification.

We are currently recruiting for a plumber to work alongside the BCE team at our client site, Colchester Garrison.The purpose of the role is to carry out plumbing and associated task PPM, remedial and installation work site wide across Colchester Garrison, a 185 hectare site containing 150 buildings that vary from accommodation to maintenance facilities.

Role Responsibility

•    Carry out plumbing and associated work in domestic, commercial, industrial    buildings, including hot and cold-water systems, heating and drainage system     upgrades, minor works repairs and fault finding.
•    To be fully conversant with all aspects of plumbing installation work.
•    Carry out pre planned maintenance completing of the necessary        documentation.
•    Always ensure compliance with the L8 Regulations and ensure that the    appropriate materials used.
•    To liaise with end users to arrange appointments, access arrangements, discuss work.
•   Carry out and complete all works to high quality and in a competent manner with the property being left in a clean and tidy condition
•    To liaise with other staff as necessary to ensure the timely completion of works within agreed operational targets
•    To carry out pre-planned and reactive maintenance
•   May be required to undertake training for working at height and confined spaces.
•    Must be able to work alone and follow lone working procedures.
•    Be responsible for the H & S of self and others and follow Sodexo policy and procedures.
•    Undertake all duties and responsibilities as instructed by Line Manager.

The Ideal Candidate

• Essential

• A recognised apprenticeship within trade specific discipline
• City & Guilds qualified in level 2 Plumbing Services 
• Working experience within an MoD site desirable 
• Good verbal, numerate, interpersonal and computer skills
• Personally motivated with initiative, flexibility, and innovation to continually develop skills.
• A good knowledge of Health & Safety Legislation and COSHH.
• To participate in Sodexo out of hours emergency service
