Job Introduction

As a Patient Service Assistant at Sodexo in Wythenshawe Hospital, you are a key member of the Ward facilities team, providing a helpful and courteous catering service whilst maintaining a clean, hygienic environment. Your daily interaction with patients on the ward will assist in ensuring what can be a stressful time is made easier for our patients, visitors, and staff. What you’ll do:

• To assist in the daily ordering of patient’s food for next day delivery. 
• Be responsible for creating a printing reports to assist with the food delivery to ward level.
• The distribution of menu folders.
• Keep up to date with all special diet menus. 
• Maintain a good relationship with all staff at ward level.
• Provide a bespoke customer service attitude towards patients, helping them chose their meals and offering suggestions.
• Liaise with ward staff to establish the patients who require a special diet or any patients with allergies.
• Adherence to all legislation and policies relating to patient meal service.
• Respond to any catering queries.

What you bring: 

• A team player with superb communication skills   
• Previous experience in a similar role is a bonus, but a can-do attitude and complete customer focus will tick the box.   
• Approachable, compassionate, and friendly personality - The position holder will regularly form close bonds with long-term patients and their families. Dealing with Patient deterioration and Bereavement may have an emotional impact on the postholder.
• Food hygiene level 2 or above would be great but don’t worry if you don’t have this, we are still keen to hear from you.
