  • £12.36 per hour + any enhancements

Job Introduction

This job puts good food on the table.

As a Patient DiningAssistant at Sodexo in Hereford County Hospital, you’ll play an important partin preparing and serving nutritious, comforting meals that support patientrecovery and wellbeing. You’ll also helpmaintain a clean, safe environment in the kitchen and dining areas. With a cheerfulattitude and great customer service, your presence can make a real differencein someone’s day. What you’ll do:

  • Serve meals and beverages to patients, customers, and staff.
  • Collect, clean, and return crockery, cutlery, and utensils.
  • Safely operate and clean industrial catering equipment and kitchen areas.
  • Decant, label, and rotate food items, ensuring proper stock management.
  • Record temperatures and take corrective actions per company policies.
  • Complete mandatory training and support additional duties as required.

  • Basic food-handling knowledge and hygiene awareness
  • The ability to stay on your feet and work efficiently during busy service periods
  • Quick to learn new skills and follow instructions accurately.
  • Committed to working safely and maintaining high personal hygiene standards.
  • Strong customer service and effective communication skills.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic literacy skills with the ability to use own initiative.
  • Capable of handling cash and performing cashing-up procedures.
