Patient Services Manager (Catering, Patient Dining)

Job Introduction

We currently have an opportunity for a Patient Environment Manager to oversee the patient catering operation at one of our Hospitals. This role has the responsibility and accountability for delivering the highest standards of service across patient dining services and will have string focus on customer experience, front of house service and dietary/menu planning.

Role Responsibility

  • Management of a team of 20 to deliver an outstanding patient feeding service across a 900 bed hospital
  • Ensure a consistent and high level of customer care and service, meeting the requirements of highly vulnerable patients and ensuring their hospital experience is efficient and personable
  • Deliver the highest possible standard of cleanliness and environment for patients, visitors and staff
  • Deliver the highest possible standard of patient dining by planning menus and dealing with dietary requests
  • Manage and deliver effective and efficient services that meet contract obligations, KPI’s and agreed Trust and company policies and procedures
  • Review and plan innovative service solutions in a vibrant and demanding NHS environment – improved services at lower cost
  • Ensure the hospital has a reputation for its high quality patient dining service

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience in a similar catering management role, ideally within the healthcare sector
  • Front of house experience and focus with a passion for customer service
  • Proven experience of managing a complex service with a diverse workforce in a customer/patient service environment
  • Proven experience of managing a successful P&L account
  • Motivational manager, who can inspire and support diverse teams,
  • An effective communicator (both verbal and written)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good understanding of food and delivering quality food
  • Knowledge of Food Hygiene and Health & Safety
