Part time Security Officer

Job Introduction

As a Security Officer at Exeter Law Courts, Southernhay Gardens, Exeter, Devon EX1 1UH. The purpose of your job will be to monitor the security of the building and personnel at all times. Join Sodexo and be part of something greater. What you’ll do: 

• Monitor the security of the building and personnel at all times at Exeter Law Courts.
• Meet and greet all staff, visitors, and members of the public in a professional manner
• Undertake security patrols as required
• Control access to the building
• Complete daily log
• Undertake site security checks in line with the SLA
• Work with the courts to monitor and control parking
• Monitor and record CCTV images in line with the Data Protection Act
• Monitor various alarms, fire, panic, disabled toilets
• Issue security passes as required to court visitors
• Act as a first line response to activations & incidents or fault reporting
• Log calls, relay messages and provide guidance and advice to visitors, clients, contractors and staff 

What you bring: 

• Ability to interact with employees, contractors, consultants, visitors, and management as well as local police and fire authorities  
• Standard SIA license (CCTV preferred but not required)
• Excellent communication and awareness skills 
• Experience in working in a similar role 
• Knowledge of security techniques and site and local emergency procedures

Package Description

• 27 hours per week 
• Wednesday 08:00-17:00, Thursday 08:00-17:00, Saturday 07:30-16:30
• £11.78 per hour
• Free onsite Car parking
• SIA Licence required
