Operations Manager - Technical
Job Introduction
Sodexo's Healthcare segment have a fantastic opportunity for an Operations Manager (Technical) to join the team based from Wythenshawe Hospital in Greater Manchester.
The Operations Manager (Technical) will report directly to the Senior Technical Operations Manager and will have direct line management responsibility for trade supervisors and staff.
You will work with and support/deputise for the Senior Technical Operations Manager in managing and ensuring the day to day maintenance services are carried out in accordance with that prescribed in the service Providers and Concession Agreements for the PFI Contract and across the Retained Estates.
You will provide technical support, with the ability to diagnose and resolve problems in all elements, but particularly with regard to services and equipment on a large Healthcare Establishment.
You will be responsible for buildings and site infrastructures and compliance with relevant HTM’s and associated regulatory requirements.
The post holder will provide out of normal hours attendance as necessary to support the operations of the facility.
Role Responsibility
To support the Senior Technical Operations Manager and deputise in their absence.
• Carry out the roles and responsibilities of other Operations Managers when required.
• Efficient management of directly employed labour and subcontractors.
• Complete and maintain Authorised Person / Responsible Person Appointments.
• PPM and Reactive maintenance workload planning and management.
• Day to day management of Minor Works
• Effectively manage, develop and undertake appropriate training and staff development.
• Mentoring the development of staff including Apprentices
• Ensuring that all Statutory and Non-Statutory planned activities are undertaken as required.
Preparation, maintenance and revision of the local operating procedures.
• Ensuring maintenance records for all maintenance activities are in an auditable state.
• Production of Key Performance Indicators for client reports
• Maintain and operate the on-call roster.
• Make recommendations and provide support documentation on life cycle issues.
• Ensure drawings and operational manuals and associated documentation are kept up to date.
• Participate in internal and external audits.
• Provide advice on technical and operational issues.
• Monitor and control the performance of plant and equipment.
• Attend meetings as a Sodexo representative.
• Manage and report site accidents in accordance with procedures.
• Manage the company Safety, Health and Environmental policies applicable to the contract.
• Prepare reports on contract quality and safety performance.
• Ensure good housekeeping is in all other areas of responsibility.
• Ensure all staff are working in a safe environment and manner.
• Liaise with Key Customers on matters of safety to ensure a collective safety approach.
• Advise staff in methods of safe working.
• Undertake all reasonable additional duties and responsibilities as instructed.
• Responsible for applying all company policies and procedures including people management
The Ideal Candidate
Have a suitable qualification in Building and/or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience on delivering planned and reactive maintenance services on a busy and complex establishment.
Have experience in management, writing and implementing procedures, records to support/evidence of works planned and completed.
Be able to communicate at all levels with operational staff, facility users and the client.
Be familiar with PFI contracts and the delivery of facility management services within this framework.
Be able to communicate at all levels with operational staff, facility users and the clients.
Be able to manage in accordance with Standards for Quality, Safety and Environment.
