As an Operational Support Officer - Facilities escort, you will be responsible for escorting contractors around the prison establishment to carry out reactive, remedial and pre-planned maintenance. You will carry out contractor inductions and ensure the contractor is working safely and within the scope of the risk assessment and method statement. You will also manage, monitor and control the security of contractor tools entering and exiting the establishment. We are looking for an experienced person who has worked in a fast-paced environment with the ability to manage your workload effectively. You must be professional and a self-starter with excellent organisational and communication skills.

Essential
- Strong communication skills both oral and written
- Physically fit
- Strong organisational skills
- Ability to work on own initiative and meet targets and to respond effectively to changing priorities
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Flexible working hours when required
- Working under pressure
Desirable
- Previous experience managing contractors.
- Knowledge of reading RAMS

Getting you up to speed and equipping you with the tools to do your job happens over a four-week training programme. This is where you’ll develop the necessary skills to work independently as an OSO. From shadowing more experienced colleagues, to understanding how to deal with conflict, you’ll be ready and prepared for every day going forward.
