This is an exciting time to be joining Prestige Nursing + Care, part of the Sodexo Group. A rare opportunity has arisen to join our established Norwich branch as a On Call Assistant.

The role of On Call Assistant is to provide a comprehensive on call service our expanding Norwich branch. This is a home based role to provide cover outside normal office hours.

We are looking for a dynamic On Call Assistant with solid carer, planning and rostering experience that is matched to a flexible, enthusiastic and can-do attitude to join our team.  You will be assisting and supporting your Branch Manager with ensuring our on call service is delivered to the highest level.

Role Responsibility

The main duties of the role will include

  • Taking calls out of hours and prioritising client/member requests
  • Check availability of staff when shifts are requested and ensure a suitable match.
  • Contact our member to book in shifts
  • Ensure members have full and accurate information about our client
  • Record the booking on our booking system, prior to the shift commencing
  • To replace members in the event of short notice absence
  • Maintain a written log of all calls
  • If a new client enquiry is made out of hours, to check with the branch manager before placing staff.
  • Familiarise yourself with the client details i.e., location, transport links, type of establishment or individuals circumstances
  • Build rapport with members
  • First line contact for complaints and to discuss/refer to Branch Manager at the earliest opportunity
  • To understand the policies and requirements regarding Safeguarding issues, so they are dealt with swiftly and appropriately
  • To attend occasional meetings, as required in branch with branch team
  • To represent Prestige Nursing & Care in a professional and helpful manner at all times

The Ideal Candidate

Key skills and attributes that we are looking for are-

  • Good telephone manner and communication skills.
  • Committed to providing a high quality service to Branch and Clients.
  • Keeping rosters up to date at all times.
  • Protecting the confidentiality of client and member information.
  • Being supportive to members.
  • Managing members so they always check in and out and keep you updated of any changes.
  • Good knowledge/or experience of healthcare/homecare services and of the local area.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Calm under pressure and ability to solve problems
  • Professional, friendly and willing disposition.
