Network Architect

Job Introduction

As part of the Sodexo Architecture team, you’ll be joining a one of the largest companies in the world, working on solutions that help millions of people every day. We are seeking a Network Architect who will provide technical and domain expertise to the rest of our IS&T teams. Being creative and curious, you will be an integral part our of empowered Architecture team – scoping and designing solutions in collaboration with others across our IS&T teams both locally and with our wider global architecture community. Working in partnership with the Delivery teams you will lead on design of elegant and robust solutions that solve complex problems for our customers and colleagues.

You will deliver architectural outcomes for Sodexo that should help us achieve improved revenue generation, cost reduction and risk mitigation aligned to the Sodexo business strategy. Working with Delivery teams you will collaborate & coordinate the technical strategy and facilitate & assist with the prioritisation of delivery. As a technical leader who embraces working in a complex and fast moving organisation you will play a key role in driving our ambition to create a best-in-class architecture team, environment and culture.

Role Responsibility

High Level Design responsibilities

  • Develop network solutions that meet Sodexo business requirements
  • Analyse and understand both user needs and expectations, to develop solution options
  • Financial analysis - define a solution's total cost-of-ownership, understand and clearly communicate various pricing models – up-front capital expenditure, consumption, licensing, support etc.
  • Conduct analyses of technology and the associated operational processes
  • Identify suitable technologies and services to deliver approved solution, technical and architectural liaison with vendors and suppliers ahead of procurement, supporting project managers and procurement team.
  • Produce high level designs with, vendor, 3rd party supplier, customer and technical team input to define overall structure and strategy of the solution.
  • Work with ITSM team to ensure that service design and transition needs are reflected in high level designs

 

Low Level Design responsibilities

  • Logical and functional, component level detailed design
  • Close liaison with / input from technical teams to enable successful implementation
  • Testing definition and approach
  • Familiarity with architectural review processes
  • Articulate key aspects of architecture and design from a functional and non-functional viewpoint (e.g., scalability, availability, manageability, robustness, appropriate incorporation of new technology) through models, documentation, and demonstrations if applicable; present architectures to executive management, clients, and technical teams
  • Develop solution architectures that promote a clear, consistent business vision

The Ideal Candidate

REQUIRED

  • Graduate calibre with architectural framework qualifications or experience i.e., TOGAF/CISSP etc
  • Three to five years experience with cross-functional Architecture team as a network designer/architect
  • Excellent experience and passion for the relevant cross-functional architectural domain
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good stakeholder management skills and customer focus with an ability to achieve consensus across a complex set of demands
  • Ability to engage with cross functional teams in a constructive and collaborative relationship to align and execute business & technical strategies
  • Analysis of risks, benefits and opportunities associated with business & architectural strategies and championing a balanced approach with a focus on achieving business outcomes
  • Innovation - assess new technologies and technology-based opportunity to deliver business outcomes.
  • Ability to work across architecture domains to innovate on capabilities and solutions across the enterprise
  • Passionate about technology, and has interest in emerging tools, trends and techniques across the industry
  • Strong experience in Cloud Technologies (Azure preferred), COTS application integration, modern architectural ways of working and practices
