Multi Skilled Technician

Job Introduction

We are currently recruiting a Multi-Skilled Technician to work across our Merton Schools portfolio. You will be mobile but centred around the Merton area and will operate across the Merton Schools contract with regard to planned and reactive maintenance, M&E, projects and installation works and lifecycle. You will ensure high levels of compliance and health & safety at all times.

You must have a NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry or Joinery as you will take a leading role in the repair and maintenance of all the building fabric elements with a bias on the carpentry side. This position would suit a ‘hands on’ multi-skilled M&E professional with good attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills.

Role Responsibility

  • Carry out and oversee the day to day operation which includes planned and reactive maintenance and repairs
  • Ensure that corrective maintenance and reactive works are carried out within the priority timescales
  • Accurate completion and population of all PPM job sheets and mobile device with relevant information
  • Ensure that work is carried out in accordance with legislation, codes of practice, manufacturer’s recommendations, HSE recommendations and meets prescribed standards in the contract
  • Work with contract operational and administrative staff to ensure tasks are completed and reported effectively

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience of working in a multi-site contract with a varied portfolio of buildings
  • Qualified to a min NVQ level 3 in a recognized building trade, ideally as carpenter or joiner
  • Candidates should have a pro-active attitude and can be flexible in relation to duties and working hours.
  • Demonstratable and strong organizational and planning skills and have the ability to prioritise and manage their time effectively
  • The candidate MUST be highly experienced, time served and fully qualified tradesperson.
  • Have the ability to build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
  • The candidate must be able to work effectively without supervision and rebound from setbacks and adversity when faced with difficult situations
  • Ability to communicate effectively and timely.
  • Ability to contribute to creating new and better ways for the organisation to be successful
  • The ability to build strong customer relationships and deliver customer-centric solutions
  • IT & systems literate, use of IT systems to provide/monitor data within the Quality Assurance and other management reporting systems.

Package Description

Salary - £27,100 - £31,500 per annum
