Mess Manager
Job Introduction
We have an exciting opportunity for an you to join our operations team as a Mess Manager at ATR Winchester. As a Mess manager you will be responsible for managing the officers and sergeant mess, the contractual obligations and company/clients’ expectations, including health & safety, accommodation management, food & beverage provision, general cleaning and housekeeping, function and events management and full budget and accounting responsibility.
You will be report directly to the general manager and be accountable for managing full team of approx.10 staff across both officers and sergeant mess.
The ideal Mess Manager will have proven management skills, experience in hotel service management with an understanding of the importance of meeting the clients demands and expectations, finance, budgets and stock management is ideal in this role!
This role will include working some evenings and weekends to deliver functions, as the business requires.
Role Responsibility
- To demonstrate capabilities for the smooth running of the Mess, to the benefit of all members and residents.
- To take responsibility for the day to day management, co-ordination and control of all Mess activity.
- To ensure that the Mess adheres to all Health and Safety, COSHH and Food Safety regulations.

The Ideal Candidate
- Qualification or relevant experience in Business Management.
- Management knowledge of HSWA, IOSH and COSHH.
- Proven experience of managing long-term client relationships
- Proven track record of leading, managing and developing a team
- Proven ability to develop new business opportunities
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Computer literate
- Previous experience of relevant service

Salary £26,500 per annum
