You will be the facilities support specialist who will provide advice and support for the maintenance of equipment, building fabric, and utility services across the Hospital. We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Assistant to take accountability for the day-to-day general maintenance tasks across the hospital site. Your focus will be on ensuring that all tasks are completed to always deliver great service to our customers.
We are looking for someone with building knowledge who is flexible adaptable and competent with completing simple building tasks and assisting with electrical and maintenance jobs. Computer literacy is essential. This is a busy hospital environment open every day 365 days per year so flexibility is essential.

Main Responsibilities
What you’ll do:
- Undertake maintenance, repairs, minor improvement work across the Trust as directed by management, ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures.
- Assist the FM team to carry out a wide range of work, ensuring planned preventative maintenance (PPM) Statutory, Routine and Reactive.
- Work in hazardous areas taking all safety measures to prevent danger, avoid injury and prevent damage to equipment.
- At all times to carry Trust/Sodexo communication devices (Tablets/ mobile phones etc) to facilitate immediate response to emergencies.
- Attend training courses as required.
- General Housekeeping ie: sweeping / clearing

Ideal Candidate
What you bring:
- Experience of working in a trade based or engineering environment
- Ability to keep work pace and meet deadlines, along with good organisation skills.
- Great communication skills, strong teamwork, and a positive attitude
- Capable of working as part of a team or unsupervised, and of remaining calm under pressure.
