Logistics Porter - Healthcare

Job Introduction

As a Hospital Porter at Sodexo in {insert location), you play a key role in the daily running of the hospital, ensuring the safe transportation of patients, as well as equipment, blood products, and gas cylinders. What you’ll do:   

• Transfer patients in a safe and appropriate manner via means of walking, wheelchair, stretcher, or beds 
• Always conduct yourself professionally, and be aware of patients’ dignity and privacy when it comes to their personal information 
• Give assistance and help with any queries raised by patients and visitors 
• Be a champion of health and safety and use any personal protective equipment provided
• Assist in the transfer of seriously injured patients from the ambulance/helicopter to the A & E department

As a porter you interact with patients of all ages and from different backgrounds, so it's necessary to show sympathy for them and their situation and respect their dignity. An empathetic nature can help you to connect with patients in a respectful way. Respect is also crucial when carrying out some duties, such as moving recently deceased patients.  Very important Must be Flexible for various shifts as this is 24 hours a day , 7 days a week shifts
