Live In Chef

Job Introduction

We are searching for someone who can tick off all four boxes to come and join our team here at Sodexo at one of the most prestigious schools in Scotland - Strathallan School in Perthshire as a Live in Chef. Our chefs at Sodexo are talented, motivated, ambitious, and creative.  You will assist in the preparation of food to ensure the prompt and efficient delivery of service to the company and client’s standards whilst maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the unit to comply with company procedures.  This is an opportunity to positively influence people daily, supporting the growth of your team and advancing your own career with a leading global services company!  Join Sodexo and be part of something greater. What you do:   

  • Ensure all food is prepared & served with due care and attention, particularly in regards to special dietary requirements, allergens and shelf life.
  • Promote a friendly working relationship with colleagues.
  • Undertake training as required and comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Complete any administration as requested including food temperatures, cleaning schedules, delivery temperatures, stock takes, etc.
  • Ensure the kitchen is maintained in a clean, organised manner and all food safety and health and safety policies and procedures are followed.
  • Work at school events, as required, with occasional evening and weekend work.
  • Assist with preparation, service and clearing of function catering as required.

What you bring:  

  • NVQ Level 2
  • Certificates for Food, Hygiene, and Health & Safety
  • Good interpersonal skills – calm nature
  • Enthusiastic – display a natural and sustained enthusiasm and energy
  • Self-motivated – needs no encouragement to make things happen
  • Strong but flexible – always prepared to listen and consider the views of others
  • Positive – focus on what CAN be done
  • Personal appearance – recognise the importance that appearance has on the attitudes of others and maintains a high level of good personal hygiene.
  • Responsible – Conscious of the consequences of action or inaction
  • Conscientious – demonstrates a commitment to get things done or of before agreed deadline

Package Description

  • Chef 
  • MUST BE AVAILABLE TO START IN SEPTEMBER 
  • LIVE IN ACCOMMODATION AVAILABLE 
  • £ 13.00 per hour
  • 40 hours per week
  • 5 days out of 7 
  • 28 days annual leave
  • Free Parking
  • Free meals whilst on site 
  • Uniform and Safety shoes provided
  • 2-3 weeks annual leave at Christmas time 
  • DUE TO THE LOCATION OF THE SCHOOL, OWN TRANSPORT IS ESSENTIAL
