Legal Counsel (Tech & Procurement)
Job Introduction
As Legal Counsel at Sodexo you will be a qualified solicitor or barrister in the UK or equivalent jurisdiction and will have demonstrated experience of commercial law and contracts with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support the Tech Services and Procurement function of Sodexo.
Role Responsibility
What you will be doing
- Reviewing, drafting and negotiating supply chain contracts including distribution, franchise, IT (SaaS, licence, services) contracts
- Advising on commercial contract queries
- Supporting the business with commercial, corporate, compliance and process improvement projects
- Assisting the business in the assessment and management of legal and commercial risk and providing training on legal, commercial and regulatory issues
- Working collaboratively with all members of the UK&I Legal Department, segments and functions
- Providing preliminary advice on disputes and litigation
The Ideal Candidate
What you will bring
- Strong academics
- Qualified solicitor in England and Wales or equivalent jurisdiction with to 2-4 years’ experience working as a commercial lawyer in a leading law firm and with some in-house experience
- Demonstrated experience in reviewing, drafting and negotiating contracts for goods, services and technology/IST (including SaaS, hardware purchase/leasing, critical and integrated systems)
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
- Good knowledge of data protection law, competition law and TUPE
- Ability to balance legal advice with the requirements of the business
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven ability to balance and prioritise a large workload in a fast-pace environment
