Your Role as a Learning and Development Manager
Sodexo is seeking a dynamic Learning and Development Manager to join our team at HMP Addiewell. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse workforce, enhance the skills of our employees, and contribute to the successful operation of the prison.
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for researching, devising, implementing, and managing the local learning and development plan tailored to meet the specific needs of HMP Addiewell. You will work closely with senior managers to understand the short and medium-term learning requirements of the site and take accountability for the site strategy in conjunction with the HRBP and the wider business. Your expertise will be crucial in coordinating and managing learning and development solutions that address the operational needs of the prison, including statutory and mandatory training, mentoring, apprenticeships, and flexible learning options.
You will play a key role in developing and delivering training modules that cater to a variety of learning styles and evaluating the effectiveness of these training programs to ensure continuous improvement. As a Learning and Development Manager, you will also coach employees on business-relevant topics, assist with the creation of quality career plans, and maintain accurate records of all training undertaken. Additionally, you will support the recruitment process, manage the induction, and initial development requirements, and act as the first point of contact for auditors regarding learning and development records.

The Ideal Candidate
Essential:
- Proven experience in research, design, coordination, delivery of learning, development solutions and delivery of KPIs in a senior role.
- Experience in managing expenditure and budgets.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to understand business needs and plan accordingly.
- Experience working with stakeholders at all levels of the business.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and manage a diverse remit.
- Proficiency in managing and maintaining L&D information systems.
- Exceptional organisational skills and clear communication abilities.
- Demonstrated passion and enthusiasm for the role and function.
Desirable:
- Experience working in a custodial environment.
- L&D related qualification
