Location: Epsom head office/home working

Hours: Full time (35 hours per week)

Contract: Permanent

Pay: £32,000-£41,000 per annum

About the role

We are seeking a registered nurse, who is passionate about education and training, who can optimise the provision and development of education and training which underpins and upholds the delivery of high quality complex clinical care provided to clients in their own homes.

 

Working alongside the Head of Clinical services, Clinical Leads and Regional nurses you will develop and maintain training resources which enable and support the regional nurses to train non-registrant professional carers to gain and maintain competencies relating to key clinical tasks and interventions required by clients in the home setting.

 

Responsible to the Head of Learning and Development, and accountable to the Head of Clinical Services, the role is an important component of our clinical governance framework and contributes to ongoing service improvement through education and training. Whilst the role predominantly supports the training infrastructure surrounding complex care provision, there will be opportunities to provide face to face training and to develop and share your expertise in a key subject matter.

 

During the Covid 19 pandemic, our regional nurses have been home based with access to branch office where required, to support on-going work in the community setting. Assisted with appropriate PPE, they have continued to meet with carers and clients lead complex care packages. Our staff have access to weekly tests and the vaccination programme for all health and social care staff has been rolled out at pace.

Role Responsibility

Key deliverables

  • To strengthen, design and/or procure education and training resources which support complex clinical care in the community/ home-care setting, enabling the integration of theory and practice. This includes developing teaching and competency assessment plans.
  • To lead on the coordination, development and maintenance of existing, and new, teaching and competency assessment plans to equip and support registered nurses, across the regions, to deliver standardised education and training to professional carers providing complex care.
  • Provide education expertise advice and support, keeping up to date with national standards, and best practice guidance, and integrating new findings, and recommendations into relevant work programmes.
  • Respond to data generated through adverse events, compliments and complaints to develop training which is responsive to developing service needs and supports continual improvement.
  • Identify and support new skills in response to emerging knowledge and techniques relating to clinical care as well as pending packages which require additional expertise knowledge.
  • Be a subject matter expert on an agreed area
  • Where required, provide specialist clinical teaching to groups as well as providing one to one support to individuals wishing to enhance their skills
  • Contribute to updating relevant policies

The Ideal Candidate

About You

We are looking for an enthusiastic forward-thinking registered nurse, ideally with community experience and a teaching qualification or experience, although consideration will be given to those with proven clinical expertise. You will have the confidence and competence to further develop and strengthen the training infrastructure relating to complex clinical care.

Essential requirements

  • Current UK professional NMC registration: RN/RNC//RN:LD
  • Ongoing evidence of CPD
  • A recognised teaching and assessing qualification, 998
  • Working knowledge of child and adult safeguarding procedures

Desirable

  • Experience working within a community setting
  • Experience working within the independent sector/charity
