LEV Technician

Job Introduction

Role Responsibility

To perform Thorough Examination and Testing (TExT) on Local Exhaust and Ventilation (LEV) systems across multiple sites in the local area and to provide a high level of technical support on systems such as Fume Cupboards; Biological Safety Cabinets and other similar bench top LEV systems. Dependant on experience, there will also be a requirement to control small projects, manage jobs and provide supervisory expertise as required in line with Company procedures and systems.

Main Areas of Responsibility Include:

• Thorough Examination and Testing (TExT) of LEV Systems (including professional report writing)
• Biological Decontamination using an in-house process
• HEPA Filter Integrity Testing (DOP)
• Operator Protection Testing on Biological Safety Cabinets (KI Discuss)
• To provide technical support commensurate with experience and qualifications
• To provide documentation as defined in the Companies Quality Management System
• To convey at all times, a professional, positive and customer driven image of Sodexo
• To act as the interface between the client and Sodexo
• To develop and maintain an effective knowledge of current regulations.

Areas of work may be compliant or hazardous and all precautions and rules regarding working in these areas should be observed, you must also have the ability to identify all risks and work safely at all times.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential
• BOHS P601 Proficiency Certificate in TExT of LEV Systems
• Previous experience within the airflow industry (LEV or HVAC)
• Qualification within an engineering or scientific environment
• High skill level for practical fault finding, repair and replacement of parts on LEV systems
• Electrically competent. (240Vac)
• Mechanically minded
• Skilled at assessing risk for all work based activities
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• PC literate on Microsoft Windows and Office applications
• Ability to work unsupervised as well as within a team
• An open-minded approach to new initiatives
• Ability to manage and plan own workload
• Complete all paperwork accurately
• Customer focused

Desired Requirements
• Currently performing Through Examination and Testing (TExT) of LEV Systems
• Practical working knowledge of HSG258
• Certified or proven experience of HEPA filter integrity testing
• Certified or proven experience of the KI Discuss operator protection test
• Previous experience of LEV systems (Fume Cupboards; Biological Safety Cabinets etc.)
