Job Introduction

Junior Category Manager 

As a Junior Category Manager with Sodexo you are an AWESOME Influencer, negotiator and relationship builder. To be successful in this role it’s not essential that you have previous Procurement or Supply Management experience.

You will work with both regional and global category teams along with the SES Platform to help develop and implement the UK Supply Management Category Strategies and play a key role in helping deliver the SES Category Managements teams financial targets.

Role Responsibility

What you will be doing 

  • To support the buying/tendering process across the wider team to help gain additional experience.   

  • Work with key strategic Sub-contractors, Suppliers and distributers, covering due diligence, tender set up & issue, supplier meetings & negotiations along with final contract award 

  • Support wider category spend analysis for category managers 

  • Responsible for contract documentation set up and new product set up 

The Ideal Candidate

What you will bring

  • Brilliant communication and articulation skills 

  • Confident speaking and presenting to a range of people across different cultures (suppliers, stakeholders, supply management colleagues)  

  • Ambition and drive with a strong passion & desire to build a career in the procurement and supply management profession 

  • Great financial acumen and commercially savvy with a passion for achieving (and over achieving) results 

  • Highly proficient on Excel MS Teams and MS office package with a keen eye for detail 

  • The ability to work efficiently, collaboratively and autonomously in a remote working environment managing your time well
