IT Project Manager
Job Introduction
Reporting directly to the IS&T Programme Manager, the role holder will be responsible for the planning and coordination of large complex projects or a set of related projects within a programme of business change, to manage their interdependencies in support of specific business strategies and objectives. The maintenance of a strategic view over the set of projects, providing the framework for implementing business initiatives, or large-scale change, by conceiving, maintaining and communicating a vision of the outcome of the programme and associated benefits. Agreement of business requirements, and translation of requirements into operational plans. Determination, monitoring, and review of programme scope, costs, and schedule, programme resources, inter-dependencies and programme risk
Role Responsibility
- Take full responsibility for the definition, documentation, management and successful completion of a portfolio of projects including large complex projects (typically with a managed budget of in excess of £250K, greater than 12 months in duration and spanning multiple business functions) or a set of related projects / programme, typically with significant business, strategic, or high-profile impact, and high-risk dependencies.
- Provides effective leadership to the project team and takes appropriate action where team performance deviates from agreed tolerances.
- Plan, direct, and co-ordinate activities to manage and implement a programme or project from contract /proposal initiation to final operational stage including the transition into “business-as-usual”; plans, schedules, monitors, and reports on activities related to the programme.
