As a Hosting Engineer for Sodexo, you will enjoy a varied role working on our mammoth infrastructure, supporting a range of services and systems to ensure industry best practices in all of the governance and policy for this ever-changing domain. You'll be working on varied projects, from building new infrastructure, both physical and cloud-based, to proactively supporting the technology already in place across our diverse organisation. In our experienced, trusted team you will be able to develop your knowledge in a large, complex environment, taking on new responsibilities to experience something new every day.

What you’ll do:
  • Maintain and manage our IT infrastructure and associated systems to industry-leading standards
  • Identify and resolve technical issues relating to all aspects of our infrastructure - servers, virtualisation platforms and software
  • Ensure high-quality service operation for business-critical hosting systems, including cloud, private cloud and on-prem servers, and the associated operating systems
  • Contribute to infrastructure projects, including patches, refreshes, license updates deployments and decommissioning
This role will be hybrid, with around 1 day per week spent in our Salford or Rochdale Data Centres.


What you bring:
  • Proven experience with cloud, physical server and virtualisation technologies in a Microsoft environment (Dell, VX Rail, VMWare, Azure)
  • Windows Operating System knowledge, including creating new users
  • DNS and DHCP configuration knowledge
  • Full driving license - travel to Sodexo sites in Greater Manchester will be required
  • Ideally you will be proficient in SQL
