Hosting/Cloud Infrastructure Solutions Architect (Hosting/Cloud)

Job Introduction

As a Host/Cloud Solutions Architect for the for the UK&I region you will need an appetite to improve, modernise, converge, and cloud-host a highly variable, heavily siloed and hybridised infrastructure landscape as well being politically astute in dealing with regional / global interactions and potential technical strategy divergence.

you will Lead the drive, with EA strategical guidance, to standardize, consolidate and modernize the Sodexo UK&I IS&T Infrastructure landscape.

 

Role Responsibility

  • Conduct analyses of technology and associated operational processes, with a view to recommending infrastructure designs and strategies that will improve service, lower costs, and prevent unforeseen operational issues.
  • Identify suitable technologies and services to deliver agreed solution, technical liaison with vendors ahead of procurement (usually PM but architect may need to liaise directly with Procurement team)
  • Produce HLD with architect, vendor, 3rd party, customer and technical team input to define overall structure and strategy of the solution.
 

The Ideal Candidate

REQUIRED

  • Graduate calibre or Equavilent with Framework qualifications i.e., TOGAF/CISSP etc
  • Effective communicator
  • Analytical in their approach
  • Excellent problem solver
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to clearly communicate ideas and results
  • 5 Years+ Experience as an Infrastructure Architect / Designer
  • Able to explain technical processes and systems to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience of working with technical teams both internally and externally.
  • Experience of collecting complex business requirements and producing functional and technical specifications.
  • Experience of leading teams, either alone or alongside a PM, to deliver required solutions.
  • Strong experience with On-Prem Infrastructure services – Compute, Storage, Backup etc.
  • Strong experience with Public cloud services (Azure, AWS, GCP etc.)
  • Experience with automation and Orchestration of infrastructure operational processes (Ansible, BMC, VMware, Red Hat, Chef, Puppet, Solarwinds etc.).
  • Knowledge of main hypervisors (VMware, Hyper-V) and network virtualization (NSX, etc.)
  • Familiar with main operating systems (Windows, Linux) and middleware (appservers, webservers, databases etc.).
  • Familiar with general enterprise networking principles
  • Familiar with general Cybersecurity principles
