Hospitality Manager

Job Introduction

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Hospitality Manager who will play a key role in ensuring that our customers and clients receive outstanding service, in line with Sodexo and Clifton College standards. Your contributions will directly impact the overall experience and satisfaction of our customers, making a lasting impression.

This role will require applicants to undergo screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and/ or Disclosure Scotland.  
 
What you’ll do:
  • Maintain compliance with legal and college requirements for fire safety, food safety, health, and hygiene, while promptly reporting any issues to your line manager.
  • Promote a culture of safety, emphasizing good safety habits and work methods.
  • Oversee the preparation, set-up, and clearing down of hospitality areas, ensuring that all aspects are of the highest standard.
  • Adhere to college procedures for cash handling and security, promptly reporting any concerns to your line manager.
  • Collaborate with internal and external clients on behalf of Sodexo and Clifton College.
  • Work closely with the Executive Head Chef to provide accurate costings for all internal and external functions.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the hospitality unit, including recruitment and selection of staff, training, and team development.
  • Liaise with the Contract Director on a weekly basis to review scheduled functions and events. 
 
What you bring:
  • Previous experience working in the hospitality industry.
  • Excellent communication skills, enabling effective interaction with customers, clients, and staff.
  • Strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple responsibilities under pressure.
  • Ability to meet performance criteria and work collaboratively as part of a team or independently.
  • Positive approach to continuous learning within the role.
  • Self-motivated and hardworking, with a focus on innovation and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and demands.
  • Possession of a valid Driving Licence for at least 12 months.
