HMP Addiewell are currently recruiting for a Health and Wellbeing Instructor. As a Health and Wellbeing Instructor you will inspire positive change, promote mental and physical wellness, and make a lasting impact on lives. Key responsibilities: 
  • To create positive opportunities for those residents attending purposeful activity and promote the benefits of achievement in education.
  • To liaise with prison staff and actively recruit new resident students with a particular set of interests attributed to your classroom subjects.
  • To provide residents with a structured programme of tuition for class periods and self-study, ensuring that progress information is incorporated into resident records. 
  • To prepare residents for exams or assessments where appropriate and encourage demonstrable learning outcomes.
 
Skills/Experience Required: 
  • Hold the applicable assessor’s award or achieve the assessor’s award within eighteen months of undertaking the role.
  • SCQF Level 7 in a teaching discipline (or equivalent) or achieve this within eighteen months of undertaking the role.
  • Knowledge and experience in Health and Wellbeing subjects, including physical activity, food and nutrition, mental health, wellbeing, and mindfulness. 
  • Experience of working with people with ranging abilities and ages who may require additional support.
  • Demonstrable experience of the SQA framework or of an Industry or Educational Standard.
Package Description

Full Time – 40 hours per week – occasional evenings and weekends Included.
HMP Addiewell, West Lothian
Salary – c£27,000 plus excellent benefits (including free meals and parking, group discount schemes and pension with 28 days holiday).
