Health & Safety Apprentice
Job Introduction
We are looking to add an apprentice to our segment H&S team to assist in all aspects of our safety culture. If you have ever thought, “Is that safe?” or “Could I improve that?” then maybe this is a role for you! In all our sites, safety is our number one priority. We are looking for someone who is equally passionate about safety as we are while supporting the administration elements that go towards a good safety culture.

Role Responsibility
Requirements of the Role:
- Working as part of the Health and Safety team for the Schools and Universities segment
- Promoting best practice in health and safety on a day-to-day basis and supporting our teams in delivering high standards of health and safety across segment activities
- Assisting the health and safety team in data analysis, including accident and incident statistics and audit close outs
- Supporting the team in the delivery of health and safety (including food safety) audits, eventually undertaking these independently
- Support development of new health and safety processes and best practice guidance for the Schools and Universities segment, with the focus on continuous improvement
What we need from you:
- Committed to undertaking all training required as part of this apprenticeship programme
- Excellent organisational skills
- Computer literate and very confident in the use of Microsoft packages, in particular Excel
- Willingness to learn how to use internal software packages
- Confident communicator
You will be supported and provided training in:
- Health and safety management, including food safety, working towards chartered professional status
The Ideal Candidate
- We are on the search for people that have a passion for Health & Safety.
- You will need to be organised and prioritise to complete work and have an eye for detail
- Ability to think critically and question appropriately
- Level 2 functional skills in Maths and English are desirable and supported through the apprenticeship
- Be committed to complete the Apprenticeship content while being hands on 30hours per week with Sodexo's Health and Safety Team
Package Description
- 20-24 Month Apprenticeship In Health, Safety and the Environment
- Relevant paid work with Sodexo's Health and Safety Team
- You'll be hands on supporting the Process, Policies and Compliance, which will be valuable knowledge to help you complete the Apprenticeship Level 3.
- You'll be able to work with a large multi segment business and gain valuable insight to what makes Sodexo so successful.
