Head of Talent Management

Job Introduction

A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Head of Talent Management role at Sodexo, fixed term for 8 months, this role reports to the Director of Talent and Learning and will lead on Talent Management and internal deployment whilst ensuring Sodexo is seen as an employer of choice.

The role is varied and encompasses a variety of activities across talent, from succession planning, employee experience and brand, using data to drive the talent agenda and influence strategies for the UK&I region.

There is no fixed place of work, however it would be ideal for the individual to be based in or around the North West. Travel will be required now and again to the Salford office and to sites across England/UK at times. 

 

Role Responsibility

The role will involve delivering the Talent Management strategy in place for the UK&I region, working closely with colleagues in our Global business. Understanding business priorities and ensuring there is an effective plan in place to build strong, diverse talent pipelines to meet current and future needs, identifying opportunities and developing insight driven strategies. Gaining insights across talent and learning will enable you to deliver an engaging employee value proposition and employee experience, ensuring Sodexo’s brand both internally and in the external market represents our culture and values.

Seen as the subject matter expert in all areas of Employer brand, Succession Management, Attraction and Talent Deployment. Working with the Head of Talent Acquisition to design and drive the talent strategy for the region and being responsible for the talent identification process, supporting segments to identify employees with potential, encouraging robust succession and development plans. Working with Learning & Development colleagues to ensure effective Talent Development programmes are in place and supporting nominations of participants. You will build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders whilst managing the team (Talent Manager).

Driving rigorous governance of talent processes to enable clear insights through HR data and analytics and continually reviewing recruitment processes to ensure they are fit for purpose and reflect the organisations values. Ensuring recruitment activity conforms to best practice and current employment legislation, seeking to continuously improve the quality and value of the recruitment service provided to Sodexo.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience in Talent Management is essential to the success of this role, understanding how to identify potential, development strategies and support retention of employees.
  • Strategic thinker – someone who can extrapolate from company plans the key talent issues, develop and deliver a plan to respond
  • Innovative and creative – able to translate processes in ways that suit the region
  • Planning, prioritisation and project management skills
  • Great communicator and influencer by being collaborative and engaging – able to raise awareness of talent strategy and gain buy-in from the business
  • Pro-active – always seeking opportunities to add value to the business through the talent agenda
  • Ability to operate individually and employing solid decision making skills
  • Develop and maintain highly effective relationships
  • Ability to find innovative ways of solving &/or pre-empting problems
