Job Introduction

At HMP Addiewell, situated within the central belt of Scotland, we deliver the full prison operations including the care of our prisoner population by our Prison Custody Officers, integrated Facilities Management, the provision of a suite of rehabilitation services, resettlement programmes, offender behaviour programmes, education and skills development, vocational training, workshops and industries.
Under the leadership and vision of a new passionate Director HMP Addiewell is facing into a new exciting new chapter whilst ensuring that we meet Sodexo’s high standards and those of our client; Scottish Prison Service.
To facilitate this, we are seeking an innovative, visionary and energetic Head of Rehabilitation to support the development and implementation of a fresh and comprehensive prison wide rehabilitative curriculum shaped by the underlying key objective of helping prisoners live law abiding lives, and find sustainable, purposeful and meaningful employment and opportunities upon release.
Working closely with the employability, education, offender outcomes and vocational teams you will devise a sound strategy that will work towards reinvigorating Addiewell as an outstanding learning prison that creates opportunities for betterment.
The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong understanding educational and vocational delivery to hard to reach and disengaged individuals and be keen to develop their understanding of accredited programme delivery, prisoner case management / progression.
This is a critical post within the prison’s senior leadership team and as such we are seeking someone with proven people management skills that can see further than short term wins to the bigger picture.
We are open to applications from both prison based operational managers, and colleagues who have an interest in future personal development towards an operational role, opening up a range of future custodial career opportunities for the future.
