Head of Mobile Engineering
Location: Home based with travel across the UK
Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 based on experience
Full UK clean driving license essential
As a result of the continued success and expansion of our FM services to our clients across the UK, Sodexo have an excellent opportunity for a Head of Mobile Engineering to join our business.
You will provide technical leadership for the deployment of mobile mechanical, electrical and fabric services, in line with agreed contractual scope for our portfolio of clients across the UK.
Drawing upon your previous experience leading mobile engineering teams within the Facilities Management sector, you will lead day to day operational delivery, in partnership with our Area Supervisors and Mobile Engineers, alongside driving continued service development, mobilisation of new contracts and support new opportunities.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Ensuring that service delivery is statutory compliant and completed in line with contractual commitments.
- Monitoring first fix times for all engineers to determine training/development and performance management needs.
- Primary client liaison for all general queries and escalations. To be the focal point for team recruitment, induction, development and retention
- Conduct monthly team meetings to ensure that all team members are engaged with Sodexo activities, best practice, announcements and SHE policies / procedures
- To maximise productivity and utilisation of engineering resource ensuring tablet technology is utilised by all engineers at all times to maximise efficiencies and reporting metrics.
- Take responsibility for carrying out regular audits to ensure that quality of works, both PPM & Reactive, are implemented to the highest standards.
- Undertake regular audits of specialist subcontractor services to ensure contract compliance and quality of service; value for money
Remote property maintenance is conducted via our Digital Intelligence Hub, located in Manchester, where our scheduling teams are based.
Working and reporting into the Director of Technical Services in Corporate Services, you will work collaboratively to grow our service offering in line with demands and data. Continuous improvement, optimisation of processes and P&L responsibility are key requirements of this role.

About You
To be considered for this role you will have and be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience in the following areas:
- 3-5 years delivering mobile engineering services across a client portfolio
- Engineering degree or equivalent
- Knowledge of critical environment management and processes
- Excellent working knowledge and understanding of architectural, electrical and mechanical systems
- Experience of delivering exceptional customer service by self and through others
- Experience in the management of team of Supervisors and Service engineers providing planned and preventative maintenance service to clients Knowledge and understanding of hard services cost models and P&L responsibility.
- Proven financial acumen essential with commercial experience and business acumen
- Proven experience of developing excellent relationships with clients built on trust
- Excellent communication, influencing and facilitation skills
- High standards of numeracy and written communication, particularly sales/bid copy
- Continuous professional development in industry/specialism
- Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Applications
