Head of Food and Experience

Job Introduction

We are currently seeking an experienced Head of Food and Experiences to join our team based at Shell Centre London Campus.

Reporting to the General Service Manager, in this role you will take ownership of all Catering Operations and Community Experience at Shell London Campus, Global HQ for Shell. You will have 4 Direct reports and a team of 40. Catering operation includes Restaurant/Café, Hospitality and Events, Executive Board Floors and Community Department, estimated annual turnover £3-4M.

The right candidate will create an environment that actively focuses on meeting and exceeding customer & client expectations, and drive delivery of Service. 

You will deliver Catering Management across Shell London Campus, ensuring cost, safety, quality, continuous improvement, and compliance metrics are achieved by Sodexo. You will drive and develop Community Department and focus on Customer Experience across their work day, and understand the high demands of the client needs that - Everyday is an ‘event’ and every person is a ‘guest’.

You will be responsible for relationship management with key stakeholders in Shell to ensure services support and facilitate the business requirements at this unique and prestigious London HQ.

Role Responsibility

• Lead the team including key internal stakeholders, business, and contract partners 

• Drive team engagement, to improve performance and staff wellbeing. 

• Provide guidance, drive, support, and set goals for all direct reports  to ensure best in class delivery.  

• Track and monitor performance metrics, data, and key performance indicators for the site 

• Embrace and manage the tiered reporting structure at site to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and effective monitoring. Drive continual enhancement of service through experience measurement 

• Ensure undisrupted delivery of all facility operations to the business through internal and contract resources 

• Drive operational excellence and deliver an efficient operating model. 

• Ensure site reporting processes e.g. KPI’S/OLA/OSR/CMP/Scorecard are completed in correct time fames 

• Ensure that the Company's, the clients and statutory regulations regarding hygiene, food safety, health & safety and Equal Opportunities are complied with. 

• Work with entire IFM team on site to create the one team ethos & culture and support achieving all site targets 

• Utilise systems such as Kronos, SMS, E profit , Blue runner and Maximo to full potential to support managing business 

• Ensure that in-house training and staff development is effectively carried out in accordance with the Training and Development Plan. 

• Supervise the recruitment process of Sodexo Management and supervisory staff to ensure the optimum candidates are available and succession planning is considered. 

• Recruit, induct, motivate, manage, train and develop all employees following Sodexo HR policy and guidelines 

• Role model the focus on five behaviors to improve engagement, enhance performance and retain talent 

• Plan and prioritise workload and tasks effectively for self and others to minimise reactivity, maintain a work life balance and ensure the right number and calibre of personnel are allocated to logistics tasks 

• Promote Sodexo as the preferred employer, internally and externally, adhering to the Sodexo recruitment policies and raise the profile of Sodexo in local communities, building relationships with key stakeholders 

The Ideal Candidate

• Considerable experience in a Catering, Hospitality, Events and service in  leadership/management role  

• Experience of delivering catering in a corporate environment, 5 Star Service,  

• Experience of leading a large team and significant budget  

• Experience of delivering a full P & L monthly review, including costs controls and savings 

• Familiar with operational excellence techniques/philosophy  

• Excellent relationship management at all levels 

• High level of practical knowledge of all soft services or relevant technical qualification. 

• Demonstrate energy, drive, innovation, and enthusiasm – an essential skill to work with on-site clients in a fast performance driven financial services environment 

Desirable / Supporting Catering Qualifications and Competencies: 

• Degree or equivalent 

• IOSH / NEBOSH 

Package Description

From £60,000 depending on experience

Monday to Friday

Permanent Full time 40 hours
