Head Chef

Job Introduction

We are looking for a Head Chef to lead the Sodexo team in our prestigious Lomond Lounge and Upperdeck Lounge at Glasgow Airport; overseeing a team this role has full responsibility for the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, plating, food ordering and storage. Interacting with customers and understanding the needs of the passengers is key to this highly responsible and autonomous role.

Role Responsibility

Working closely with the Lounge Manager, you will have a high number of passengers dining in both lounges throughout the day, the role involves planning, supervising and delivering the food and beverages as per the lounge requirements, coaching and guiding the staff to ensure an efficient operation. Working with the customers you will ensure the highest quality of service through continuous improvement to product and services, by seeking customer feedback and interacting daily to explain the food and beverages on offer. You will ensure buffet and stock levels are maintained and control hygiene standards, whilst providing training to staff to ensure presentation and display of food is of a high standard. You will also be involved in forecasting of food consumption, assigning team responsibilities and holding team meetings. As the most senior Chef on site this is a responsible and varied position, some flexibility around hours will be required as the lounges are open 7 days a week.
