Job Title: Head Chef
Location: Sanofi, Reading
Salary: £39,000 DOE
As a Head Chef at Sodexo in Sanofi, Reading, you will lead a dedicated kitchen team, ensuring excellence in food preparation, presentation, and service. This role is vital in maintaining high standards and delivering exceptional customer service that meets both client and Sodexo’s expectations.
In this position, you will manage all aspects of the kitchen, from overseeing food safety and hygiene to controlling the financial aspects of catering services. Your leadership will drive quality and efficiency, creating a positive dining experience for all. What you’ll do:
• Manage and supervise the kitchen team, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Oversee the preparation, presentation, and service of food to meet agreed standards and client specifications.
• Ensure adherence to hygiene, HACCP controls, and health & safety guidelines.
• Handle stock rotation, ordering, and quality checks, while maintaining budgetary controls.
• Promote positive customer service practices and maintain excellent client relationships.
What you bring:
• Minimum five years’ experience in a similar role.
• Level 3 NVQ or City & Guilds 706/1/2, and a Food Handler Supervisor Level Three qualification.
• Proven ability to lead a catering team and manage financial aspects of a kitchen.
• Strong communication and culinary skills with a track record in innovation and service improvement.
• Experience in adhering to health & safety practices and driving company initiatives.
