HVAC & Refrigeration Engineer

Job Introduction

As an HVAC & Refrigeration Engineer at Sodexo Energy & Resources, Aberdeen, you will be the go-to person, the one with the answers to everyone's questions, and the one who knows how to keep the facilities operating smoothly. What you’ll do: 

  • Responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, repairs, installation projects, and commissioning of commercial and industrial HVAC, refrigeration, and air conditioning equipment in onshore and offshore environments.
  • Managing maintenance and repairs for HVAC and refrigeration systems and following EC 517/2014 F-Gas Regulations
  • Comply with all Company and Client policies and procedures, and statutory regulations, including health and safety, safe working practices, hygiene, cleanliness, fire, COSHH. This will include your awareness of any specific hazards in your workplace.
  • Actively champion a safe and healthy environment for patients, visitors, and staff

What you bring: 

  • City & Guilds 2079 Level 2 - FGAS and ODS Regulations
  • City & Guilds Level 3 / NVQ or equivalent
  • Time serviced Air Conditioning Engineer with relevant craft/trade training; City and Guilds 2079 or NVQ.
  • Previous experience working in HVAC & Refrigeration Onshore and Offshore Sector.
  • Practical engineering skills, including working knowledge of engineering compliance and engineering standards best practice.
  • IT literate with experience of using Microsoft Office applications and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems
  • Practical experience of working with safe systems of work and following procedures.
  • Ability to keep work pace and meet deadlines, along with good organisation skills.
  • Great communication skills, strong teamwork, and a positive attitude 
  • Capable of working as part of a team or unsupervised, and of remaining calm under pressure
  • (BOSIET) Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training & Valid Medical
  • Minimum Industry Safety Training (MIST) would be beneficial.
  • P601 (Thorough Examination and Testing of Local Exhaust Systems, BOHS) would be beneficial.

Package Description

Sodexo are looking for an HVAC & Refrigeration Engineer to join the Sodexo Energy & Resources working on various contracts in Aberdeen, North Sea, Netherlands and Shetland.

  • 40 Hours  
  • £20.40 per hour

For onshore working the following terms apply:

Monday – Friday: hours worked over and above the standard 8 hours will be paid at 1.5 x hourly rate. 

Saturday – First 4 hours will be paid at 1.5 x hourly rate Subsequent hours will be paid at 2 x hourly rate. 

Sunday – All works carried out on a Sunday are paid at 2 x hourly rate. 

Working on our industrial site at SVT and Shetland Based Sites the following terms for payment apply:

Day Rate (Monday – Sunday): 12- hour shifts paid at rate 1 with a night allowance for each night spent on site.

We anticipate that you will be required to work at least 156 days at our SVT (Shetland) 

Every weekend worked away will accrue a day in leu to be taken at the end of your trip.

Offshore Works

Day Rate (Monday – Sunday): 12-hour shifts paid at Rate 1 with a night allowance for each night spent on any asset.

Every weekend worked away will accrue a day in leu to be taken at the end of your trip. 

This role requires the potential candidate to be based in or around Aberdeen city.
