Job Introduction

HR Administrator

  • Location: Stoke Mandeville Hospital
    Salary: £25,000 – £28,000 per annum
    Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented HR Administrator to join our team at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. This role is crucial in ensuring smooth HR operations, supporting managers and employees, and providing accurate and timely administrative support. You will work closely with the HR Business Partner and Operations team to deliver excellent HR service in a busy and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage HR administration for new starters, including contracts, offer letters, and induction paperwork.

  • Support managers during disciplinary, grievance, absence and capability meetings, acting as note taker and preparing case documentation.

  • Maintain and update key trackers (sickness absence, right to work, DBS, probation periods, exit interviews) and highlight trends or required actions.

  • Produce correspondence for employee relations matters (invite letters, outcome letters etc.).

  • Generate monthly HR reports and run ad hoc data reports from SAP.

  • Maintain personnel files, ensure compliance, and manage archiving.

  • Provide day-to-day HR support including filing, post, telephone enquiries, and staff communications.

  • Support the HR Business Partner with projects and additional ad hoc requests.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in an administrative role, ideally within HR.

  • Knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and practices.

  • Excellent IT skills (MS Office, HR systems).

  • Ability to plan, organise, and prioritise effectively under pressure.

  • Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Agenda for Change terms and conditions.

  • Understanding of employee relations issues.
