Grounds Maintenace/Tree Surgeon
Job Introduction

Role Responsibility
Reporting to the Contract Manager, the successful candidate for this role will be responsible for:
- Undertaking grounds maintenance, horticultural and related tasks within designated sites to required specifications and quality standards, as directed by the Contract Manager or Contract Supervisor. Such activities include, but are not restricted to:
- Grass cutting;
- Edge trimming;
- Shrub and tree pruning;
- Removal of weeds and litter from beds, plant containers, pathways and grassed areas;
- Laying out and planting bedding;
- Fine turf maintenance;
- The marking out and preparation of sports pitches;
- Digging and mulching;
- The watering of plants, beds and plant containers;
- The collection and removal of waste arising from such activities
- Tree felling
- Tree pruning
- Crown lifting
- Tree planting
- Young tree Maintenance
- The operation/driving and conducting of relevant preventive maintenance checks of machinery, plant and vehicles provided for the undertaking of grounds maintenance, horticultural or related activities.
- Assisting other members of the team in their learning and development; particularly with regard to practical training and the giving of advice.
- Implementing the principles and practices of Health and Safety and Quality Assurance and customer care including reporting to the Line Manager any identified hazards, unsafe procedures or systems.
- Communicating courteously with and relay information back where appropriate to other team members, clients and the general public.
- Ensuring appropriate company paperwork is completed daily, weekly and monthly as required.
- Conducting work upon additional contracts locally as and when required.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- experience tree surgeon with relevant nptc or equivalent certification
