We are sourcing for a Global FM Engineering Director (EMEA), to join our team to be part of the leadership team for the account. You will provide strategic, technical, energy and inspirational leadership to the EMEA region to drive efficiencies and to deliver significant business growth and profitability.
As Global FM Engineering Director (EMEA), you will be required to be a chartered engineer with an appropriate level of experience to provide excellent leadership, direction to area technical services teams who will deliver against the strategic objectives for the account.
An M&E background is ideal and Energy experience is essential for success in this role and we would expect the role holder to provide their expertise to the region, implement and maintain business improvement as well as create and promote the strategy.
The Global FM Engineering Director (EMEA) will be required to do a significant amount of travel across the EMEA region, you will be client site based and this is flexible in the UK, Ireland or across the EMEA region.

Role Responsibility
- To provide thought leadership on all technical services and energy management practices and guidance to the region as the subject matter expert
- To provide technical direction and expertise to the operating region by promoting Sodexo strategies (AMF etc) and service offers
- To actively work across the region with EMEA Account Director as part of the Senior Leadership Team
- Define a robust and achievable strategy which will successfully improve the regions performance in technical services and energy management
- Become a service line of excellence to internal and external clients
- Ensure exploitation of all income opportunitites within existing client portfolio and prospective organic growth
- Suppport the sustainable profit contribution of the region including management of working capital, profit and loss, balance sheet and asset management.
- Deploy the Asset Management Framework (AMF) in the operations
- Drive excellence in operational delivery to new and existing clients to maximise operational excellence
- Develop a competent operational team to deliver consistent service delivery by ensuring effective leadership of all business activity
- Pioneer the use of best-practice technical services management throughout the region to ensure achievement against all contractual business
- Development of policy, strategy and procedures for technical and energy management delivery
- In conjunction with the sales team support the delivery of the pipeline of new prospects to meet the sales targets and that re-bids are successfully won
- Engage with high-value clients on a routine basis and lead by example in providing excellence in contract/relationship management
- Establish industry networks to ensure continuous improvement and to provide insight through the effective use of market data and operational/technical delivery techniques
- Manage relationships and key interfaces with the client and the clients' key decision makers – particularly technical
The Ideal Candidate
- Client business language is English – therefore must have excellent oral and written English
- Other European languages are advantageous
- Chartered Engineer with an appropriate level of experience
- Experience of having operated successfully at a senior technical level within an outsourced B2B environment with experience of delivering and creating strategy
- Experience of working in critical environments
- Energy Management Qualification
- An appropriate level of experience in a senior technical and energy manager role
- Demonstrable track record of developing successful operational strategies across a broad portfolio
- Exceptional client relationship management skills
- Development of commercially viable solutions based on rigorous techniques to understand client needs and price products/services accordingly
- Considerable experience in private sector technical service delivery
- Proven financial acumen essential with commercial experience and business acumen
- Proven track record of initiating and leading demanding business change programmes
- Proven experience of developing profitable relationships with clients
- Proven experience in identifying and selling new business
- Proven track record of leading and managing experienced operators and large numbers of employees
- Excellent communication, influencing and facilitation skills
- High standards of numeracy and written communication, particularly sales/bid copy
Desirable
- Representative and active involvement on Industry bodies
Other relevant information
- Regular travel and overnight stays will be required
- To relieve and assist in other establishments in certain circumstances.
- To attend meetings and training courses as requested.
