General Services Manager

Location: Leyland

Salary: Up to £43,000 (depending on experience) & range of excellent employee benefits

Permanent – Onsite – Monday-Friday

Sodexo has a great opportunity for an experienced General Services Manager to join our established team working with our clients based in Leyland.

Joining our team at their manufacturing site, you will manage the catering contract and associated serviceslead, develop, manage and motivate a high performing team, ensuring that the client receives services of the highest quality by driving innovation and continuous improvement of people, systems, processes and services.

The General Services Manager will develop strong working relationships with on-site clients & agents to operate proactively in line with the ‘Clients for Life’ Philosophy to enhance client retention and customer satisfaction, gain referrals for new business and attract new clients and customers whilst maintaining the standards and integrity of the service offers and Service Level Agreement at all times.  

You will ensure that health and safety is given the number one priority by delivering all safeguard administration in advance of and during logistical operations, leading where appropriate and taking part in management and employee briefings to deliver safety information, including Food Safety, Health & Safety, Fire Safety, First Aid and any statutory, client or venue specific safety requirements.

Planning and prioritising workload and tasks effectively for the team to minimise reactivity, you will ensure the right number and calibre of personnel are allocated to logistics tasks and ensure continuous improvements are made to enhance the delivery of onsite services to exceed client’s expectations whilst maintaining a work life balance.

About You 

Experience and knowledge requirement for this role: 

  • Previous experience of operational management in catering and/or catering in a similar environment and on a contract of similar size and scope of services
  • People management experience especially large teams operating across different shifts and services
  • Achieve set, standards and operate to performance criteria including health & safety and hygiene
  • Proven ability to work in a partnership and collaborative way with other service providers
  • Positive approach to learning in role and identifying own training needs as appropriate
  • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative within a team environment 
  • Ability to interpret and utilise financial and commercial information
  • Manage multiple workloads and shifting priorities
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels
  • Experience of delivering training
  • Strategic planning experience
  • Attention to detail

Qualifications required:

  • IOSH Qualification (preferred)
