General Services Manager 

Edinburgh - Full time

We are currently seeking a dedicated and dynamic General Services Manager to join our team and play a key role in driving excellence and innovation in Edinburgh.

As a General Services Manager you'll: 

  • Drive continuous improvement and operational best practices to enhance service delivery
  • Ensure compliant delivery and performance of contracted services through performance management systems
  • Identify growth opportunities and support innovative initiatives
  • Lead and manage teams to deliver service excellence, ensuring client satisfaction and high-quality standards
  • Maintain a zero-harm safety culture by adhering to all HSE policies and procedures
  • Manage budgets effectively to meet financial targets and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Implement innovations and Sodexo contract processes, ensuring compliance with company policies
  • Rigorously manage results to meet KPIs and client expectations
  • Foster clear communication within teams and support the account manager as needed
  • Monitor and control all service lines within budgets, ensuring seamless soft services operations
  • Build strong relationships with senior client management and third-party providers to achieve cost savings and service levels
  • Support business development and continuity planning
  • Ensure compliance with hygiene, food safety, health & safety, and equal opportunity regulations
  • Utilize Sodexo systems (UDC, SAP, Kronos) for operational efficiency
  • Recruit, induct, develop, and motivate staff following HR policies; conduct staff training and performance reviews
  • Manage HR procedures, absence, and finance data accurately
  • Lead and develop a high-performing, engaged team aligned with Sodexo values
  • Drive service excellence, brand integrity, and adherence to corporate social responsibility standards
  • Plan, prioritize, and organize workloads effectively to ensure operational efficiency and work-life balance

What we're looking for:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and IT systems
  • Demonstrated people management experience
  • Ability to interpret and utilise financial information effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Previous operational management experience in a similar environment
  • Proven track record of developing profitable client relationships
  • Broad commercial facilities management (FM) experience with strong business acumen
  • Knowledge of external industry developments and contract development models
  • Experience leading company initiatives and managing change processes
  • Skilled in identifying and driving organic business growth
  • Strong negotiation and client relationship management skills
  • Experience working within standards and compliance environments
  • Soft services background essential
  • Health & Safety qualification such as IOSH or RIPH required
