We are now seeking a General Manager to join our team at RAF Benson in Wallingford. 

 What you’ll do:

  • Accountable for day-to-day management, coordination, and control of all Defence activities across designated contracts and affiliated sites, as outlined in the Schedule of Requirements and operational manuals.
  • Drive growth by managing additional independent contracts on site and expanding service offerings.
  • Plan, organise, and oversee the delivery of all services within operational business areas, ensuring compliance with service level agreements, KPIs, and contractual terms.
  • Manage team performance, maintain strict budgetary control, and foster collaborative business relationships aligned with Sodexo’s vision and values.

What youbring:

  • Demonstrated management experience within the soft FM service industry encompassing leadership, people management, recruitment, training, and employee performance management, including disciplinary and grievance procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong numerical ability, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety and food safety management, with relevant qualifications such as IOSH Managing Safely and CIEH Level 3, considered desirable.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, with meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical problem-solving skills, and a capacity to develop and implement innovative solutions.
  • Experience within a military environment and prior management in a comparable role would be advantageous

Package Description

  • 40 hours per week
  • 5 days out of 7
  • between £43,000 and £50,000  per annum
  • Eligible for a bonus
