General Manager (Cluster Manager) – Sussex and Kent Cricket

Job Introduction

We are looking for General Manager (Cluster Manager) to join our fantastic team at Sussex and Kent Cricket Clubs. In this role you will have full responsibility for events, H&S and food safety and will be accountable for legislative & financial aspects of the business for Sussex and Kent Cricket clubs.

To be successful in this role you will need to have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to successfully build and maintain productive client relationships. You will also have proven team management experience to deliver a high-performance culture and coach on-site team to achieve operational excellence. 

Due to the nature of the role working hours during the season will be around match days as per business demands.

 

Role Responsibility

  • Ensure the highest standard of operation is delivered
  • Build and nurture strong client relationships
  • Drive profitability of the business
  • Lead, develop, manage and motivate a high performing team
  • Identify opportunities to drive efficiencies and maximise operating profit whilst maintaining a high standard of service
  • Promote the C&B business throughout the year managing the peaks and troughs and to maximize income in a challenging environment
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Work with the on-site Sales Manager and Group Marketing Manager to agree the Sales and Marketing Plan with quarterly reviews
  • In conjunction with the Regional Operations team, be aware of market trends and look to implement new service offers and new concepts
  • Manage a business that has many peaks in trade to satisfy the client and customer needs at all events.
  • Manage a P&L account controlling all elements in particular dry and wet cos and labour costs
  • Provide statistical analysis of sales and costs, to drive the business and deliver positive results
  • Ensure that all legal requirements are met including: Licensing, Health and Safety at Work, COSHH, Environmental Health, Fire Precautions and any others
  • Take responsibility for the introduction of new initiatives which add value and create an environment for change

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven track record in operational management in a similar environment. Knowledge of the Stadia market highly desirable
  • A proven leader with the ability to create strong teams
  • Experience of both retail and event operations
  • Excellent influencing and rapport building skills with colleagues from site level to senior management
  • Ability to interpret and utilise financial and commercial information
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail & accuracy
  • Resilient, determined and able to work flexibly and proactively
  • Calm approach under pressure

£48,000 + bonus and benefits
