    Job Opportunity: General Maintenance Operative  (Level 2)

    Location: Reading, RG26UH

    Type: Full-time, Permanent

    Salary: £35,000 - £40,000

    Driving License Required

     

    We are seeking askilled and reliable General MaintenanceOperative to join our facilities maintenance team. This is a hands-onrole supporting the delivery of planned and reactive building fabricmaintenance, including statutory, legislative, and minor new works, on a clientsite.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Carry out building fabric maintenance tasks and diagnose faults
    • Complete like-for-like asset replacement and minor installation works
    • Conduct risk assessments and work in accordance with safety procedures
    • Maintain compliance with relevant building regulations and standards
    • Provide support during emergency call-outs and out-of-hours response
    • Liaise with clients, team members, and specialist contractors
    • Maintain accurate records of work completed, time spent, and materials used

     

    Required Skills and Experience:

    • Completed apprenticeship in a relevant building services discipline
    • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in a related trade (plumbing or electrical preferred)
    • Experience in a technical maintenance environment
    • Ability to self-manage workload and meet deadlines
    • Strong understanding of health and safety standards
    • Competence in using Microsoft Office and Computerised Maintenance Systems
    • Excellent communication and teamworking skills
    • Familiarity with helpdesk and workflow systems
